HOW TO MAKE ATTRACTIVE HUMMING BIRD GARDEN

Hummingbirds are brightly colored birds that are always a wonder to see, and it's easy to attract them to your garden

Hummingbirds prefer openings in the forest and forest edge, and so are readily drawn to suburban and rural gardens that offer a mix of tall trees, shrubs, and patches of meadow and lawn

Designing a garden that will attract hummingbirds is easy to do once you learn about what they like

1. Select a location in your yard that is flat or with a bit of a slope. That location should get at least six hours of sun in a day.

1. There should also be some shade nearby the garden. Hummingbirds like both sunny and shady areas.

1. Hummingbirds tend to feed early in the morning (dawn) or late in the evening (dusk). Do not be upset if you do not see them in your garden in the middle of the day as a result.
